In 2012 we started out on an ambitious journey, bringing high-speed fibre to 1.6 million homes and businesses across Ireland. We've now achieved this milestone and you can view our fibre rollout map here. Our challenge now is to bring life-changing 1 gigabit per second broadband beyond towns and villages right into the heart of rural Ireland. Here, we tell the story of our fibre rollout programme to 300,000 rural homes and businesses.
Ambitions are one thing. Delivering on those ambitions requires proven people, systems and infrastructure. From strategic planning to design, build, delivery and support, our team have the expertise and track record to deliver rural fibre at scale, efficiently and to the highest standards.
After a comprehensive analysis to determine a future-proof strategy for rural broadband, our strategic planning team decided on Fibre to the Home technology, delivering a world class broadband network along open eir’s existing pole network.
