Getting Started and Registration

How early should I register my development?

Developers should register their development as early as possible to allow sufficient time for design, planning, and delivery.

What information is required to register a site?

Site layout drawings, plot details, build schedule/programme, contact information, and utility layouts and ducting plans (where available).

Portal Access and Account Management

How do I create an account?

Users can register online, verify their email address, and complete the required validation checks to gain access to the portal.

What should I do if I cannot access my account?

First, attempt to reset your password. If access issues persist, contact the support team for assistance.

Design and Survey Process

What happens after I register my site?

Once a site is registered, the design process begins, including a desktop assessment and, where required, a site survey.

Can I request changes to the design?

Yes. Design amendments can be requested through the portal; however, changes may impact delivery timelines.

Timescales and Delivery

How long does it take to receive a design?

Designs are typically issued within four weeks, depending on the completeness of information and site complexity.

What can delay the process?

Incomplete documentation, site readiness issues, contact difficulties, and design changes.

Developer Responsibilities

What infrastructure am I responsible for?

Developers are responsible for installing ducting, chambers, draw ropes, and internal pathways in accordance with Open eir specifications.

Documentation and Technical Requirements

What documents are required?

CAD drawings, utility layouts, phasing plans, and supporting documentation.

What file formats are accepted?

All site drawings must be submitted in DWG format.

Phased Developments

How do I manage phased developments?

Additional phases can be registered through the portal, although submitting the entire scheme in one application is recommended.

Site Readiness and Inspections

How do I notify that my site is ready?

Confirm site readiness through the portal or contact Secto using the details provided in the portal.

Communication and Support

How do I contact the team?

Developers can contact the New Developments Team by email or telephone.

Customer Activation

When can residents order broadband services?

Once infrastructure is approved, fibre is installed, and addresses/Eircodes are activated.

Changes and Updates

What if my site layout changes?

Upload updated drawings through the portal and request a revised design.

Compliance and Standards

What standards must be met?

All infrastructure must comply with current Open eir technical specifications.

Materials Collection

How do I obtain materials?

A materials list and collection instructions are provided with the design pack.

Can someone collect materials on my behalf?

Yes. Authorised contractors may collect materials with the required documentation.
